The snow surveyors politely asks that members of the public keep off of the snowy area identified at a manual snow course or SNOTEL site.  Cooperation from the public is essential to the validity of the data collected.

Disturbing the snow within a manual snow course or SNOTEL site by skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling destroys valuable water data meant for collection and analysis.  It is important that only a trained and qualified snow surveyor enter the site.
